Best Dressed Ostrich Award: Two awards for a registered participant who wears the best ostrich costume: first and second place. Decided by race committee judges. This goes hand in hand with our commitment to add humor to the often-serious subject of sexual abuse. We all need to laugh!!
Grand Fund Raiser Award: Any contribution above the entry fee will be appreciated. Participants are encouraged to get pledges and the runner or walker who raises the most funds will receive a special award and be recognized in the awards ceremony. Please bring your pledges (cash or check only) to registration at packet pick-up times or on race day to the registration table.
Walking awards: First place awards to fastest male and female walker; top 15 walkers get special Bashful Ostrich awards. Please note: any walker who runs will not be eligible for a walking award. Be careful: the Ostrich will be watching!
Running Awards: First place awards to fastest male and female runner. Top 15 runners will get special Bashful Ostrich awards. Age bracket winners in the running division will receive beautiful Lucite Bashful Ostrich awards. Second and third place runners in each age bracket will receive special Bashful Ostrich awards.
Age brackets: Running: 14 and under; 15-19; 20-24; 25-29; 30-34; 35-39; 40-44; 45-49; 50-54; 55-59; 60-69; 70 & over
PLEASE NOTE: YOU MUST PICK UP YOUR TROPHIES AND AGE BRACKET PRIZES AT THE RACE. AWARDS WILL NOT BE MAILED!! IF YOU MUST LEAVE EARLY, YOU CAN PICK THEM UP AT DR. KROEGER’S OFFICE (771-2230). AGE BRACKET RESULTS WILL BE POSTED BY 10:10 AT THE AWARDS TABLE IN THE CAFETERIA. ONLY FIRST PLACE AWARDS WILL BE PRESENTED AT THE PODIUM, DUE TO TIME RESTRAINTS.
